That’s why we’re excited to announce the opening of our 2025 impactU Scholarship Call for Applications.
What is the impactU Scholarship?
It’s a scholarship aimed at undergraduate students at the University of Antioquia (Medellín campus) and the National University of Colombia (Medellín campus) who belong to socioeconomic strata 1 or 2 and may be at risk of dropping out due to financial and support-related challenges.
If you had to permanently relocate from a town located more than 80 km away from the university in order to study, this opportunity might be for you!
What benefits does our scholarship offer?
- Financial support: You will receive a monthly stipend for living expenses equivalent to 50% of the Colombian minimum monthly wage (SMMLV) throughout the year. Additionally, you may receive an extra financial incentive of 25% of the SMMLV during the months you are enrolled, subject to certain conditions.
- Professional development: You’ll have access to personalized English courses to strengthen your language skills, as well as training in soft skills designed to boost your professional success in the job market.
- Personal support: You’ll receive personalized mentoring from accomplished professionals in your field of study, along with psychological support to ensure your emotional well-being and overall success.
The scholarship will remain in effect until your graduation or, at most, up to one year beyond the official duration of your academic program, as long as you meet all the requirements established by the Foundation to maintain it.
Do you meet the requirements to apply?
Make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria:
- Residence: You must have permanently relocated from a town located more than 80 km from the university campus in order to pursue your studies.
- Academic progress: You must have completed and passed at least the second level (semester or academic term) of your undergraduate program.
- Socioeconomic status: You must belong to socioeconomic stratum 1 or 2.
- Financial support: You must not be receiving financial aid from other governmental or private entities, with the exception of Jóvenes en Acción and university support for food or transportation.
- Prior education: You must not hold any university or technical degree.
- Academic performance: You must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 5.0 scale).
